U.S. Court Rejects Lawsuit Against Binance: Zhao Changpeng Secures Major Legal Victory
According to a report by Reuters on March 6, 2026, a U.S. court has dismissed a lawsuit filed against Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, and its founder, Zhao Changpeng (CZ). The lawsuit was brought by families of victims of the October 7 attacks (the Hamas attack on Israel), who alleged that the Binance platform facilitated fund transfers and money laundering for Hamas.
The federal judge ruled that the plaintiffs failed to provide sufficient evidence to prove that Binance had direct intent or could be held legally responsible for the destructive actions of the terrorist organization.
This decision marks another major legal victory for Zhao Changpeng after the SEC dropped part of its civil lawsuit in mid-2025. After previously serving a short sentence, this outcome may help Zhao Changpeng and Binance move forward with further restructuring efforts and repair their public image.
