It's a take I'm inclined to side with. 😩 But to be fair, the Pope is an in-house promotion chosen after years of committment to the mission of the 'organization'. Not the same as taking a bet on a random hire. Still on the side of abolishing >3 round interviews though.

My biggest takeaway from trying to do organic distribution for an app in the past month has been that the work actually needs to start long before the app goes live. Earning goodwill in indie communities, testing hooks on TikTok, noting what’s working from other public experiments save you a lot of time when you do go live.
