I've been curious about how @zama combines FHE, MPC, and zk-PoK to enable confidential contracts on any blockchain or rollup, so I did some digging. It turns out each has a distinct function: → FHE (Fully Homomorphic Encryption) - Enables operations on encrypted data, like a calculator working inside a locked box. → MPC (Threshold Multiparty Computing) - Secures the decryption key by splitting it among multiple parties, like pirates holding pieces of a treasure map. → zk-PoK (Zero-Knowledge Proof of Knowledge)- Proves that encrypted inputs are valid without revealing anything. Here is how they all work together: User Encrypts Their Data • The user encrypts their input (say “100 tokens”) using Zama’s global FHE key. • They also generate a zk-PoK — a proof that: • They actually know what’s inside the encrypted data. • It was encrypted correctly. • This is sent to the blockchain gateway. → This ensures “no fake or broken inputs.”
