​​Opensea activity surges ahead of the airdrop

In May, OpenSea reached a 2-year high in monthly active users, hitting 467K. Monthly NFT sales also climbed to 2.12M which is very close to a 30-month peak.

The upcoming $SEA TGE and airdrop appear to be the key drivers behind this growth. On May 29, Opensea launched the upgraded OS2, now supporting 19 chains, token swaps, and a new rewards program.

Despite the growth in active users, trading volume remains relatively low compared to the $5B peak in January 2021. In May, total volume reached $84M. It is not NFT season yet, but interest is warming up.
