zama been rolling out their Genesis Operators,
: genesis operators are the first validator set for @zama
handpicked for reputation, infra strength and track record. they’ll run zama's FHE network during its early phase, forming core of its DPoS setup
but why they're crucial:
zama's FHE allows smart contracts to process encrypted data without ever decrypting it
the entire system relies on a single encryption key, but instead of giving that key to one entity (a huge risk), Zama splits it into pieces
each operator holds a fragment and through MPC, they can compute together without ever reconstructing the full key
no single point of failure, no one can decrypt data, thats how decentralization is enforced at cryptographic level
At launch, Zama will have 18 operators:
> 13 KMS nodes protecting encryption keys
> 5 FHE Coprocessors handling encrypted computation
their core roles:
-Protecting the key via MPC
-Running the encrypted computation network
-Governing protocol updates, fees, and new integrations
