I wish Cursor had multiple specialised agents with more defined character files and personalities that I could collaborate with

rather than choosing o3 or claude-4-sonnet I could work with Leon the product manager (planner) or Jen the sr. full stack dev (executor) or Rain (the CS grad who can review bugs and do QA)

yeah I’ve done this so that I have a seperate planner and executor roles, but I haven’t gone deep enough to give them unique personalities and backstories

the crux of what I’m talking about here is that it would be cool if more of the IDEs that are leveraging agents were more approachable and less stiff. 

these are no longer just utilitarian tools, they are canvasses for creative expression that people will be spending 50+% of their day in. make it feel magical

you might know about this but you can add custom instructions (+ specific underlying models) in different agent "modes" but i don't know how long the custom instruction block can be. don't see a way to create one outside of the little "Agent" dropdown in chat though

it wouldn’t be. It would have sensible defaults and you’d choose between the agents rather than models

That shouldn’t be a replacement for being able to choose among different models. 
At the very least just have both. 
To able to choose between different models is more important

I just want to ask stuff and get good answers. They should manage "who" gets the job done.
