@jesse.base.eth BaseApp FAQ Your first Web3 super app – Everything about Base App Thank you for showing interest in Base App! Since the app is still in beta, some parts may feel unfamiliar. This FAQ is designed to help you navigate and use Base App. This guide was created with contributions from Babytomato and Base Korea. ⸻ 1. How to connect Base App to Farcaster • During signup with a beta code, you can choose between “Connect existing Farcaster account” or “Create a new account”. • If you accidentally select “Create a new account,” a new UID will be generated, and your existing account won’t be linked. • In this case, you need a new beta code to register again and connect your existing Farcaster account. • Currently, there’s no way to link Farcaster to an already created Base App account. ⸻ 2. Beta mode not activating • Beta mode can be turned on/off within Base App. • If it doesn’t activate after entering the beta code: • Click the link you received again and retry. • If you had previously disabled beta mode: • Go to Wallet tab (bottom right) → click wallet address (top left) → select Activate Beta Mode at the bottom. ⸻ 3. Are Base App wallet and Farcaster wallet connected? • No. • On first beta activation, Base App and Farcaster accounts can be linked, but wallet addresses remain separate. • Base App creates a smart wallet based on Coinbase Wallet, which is not the same as a Farcaster EOA (Externally Owned Account). ⸻ 4. No Seed Phrase • Base App’s smart wallet is based on Coinbase’s Base Account structure. • You don’t need to store private keys or a seed phrase manually. • More info can be found in the official documentation. ⸻ 5. Coinbase App or Base App? • Install Base App. • Base App is a Web3 super app integrating wallet, social, mini-apps, and earning features. • Check official videos for more details. ⸻ 6. Different follower count in Base App and Farcaster • If your Farcaster account is linked, activity and followers are shared. • New Base App accounts are separate from Farcaster data, so follower counts may differ. ⸻ 7. Do Base App post rewards apply to Farcaster? • Posts in Base App are automatically posted on Farcaster, but: • Engagement data for rewards is calculated separately. • Base App rewards are based only on activity inside Base App. • Farcaster interactions do not directly affect Base App earnings. ⸻ 8. Base Name (Base Chain ENS) not registering • Base Name is linked to a specific wallet. • If the wallet that minted the Base Name doesn’t match your Base App wallet, registration won’t work. • To use a Base Name: • Bring the wallet that minted it into Base App, or • Transfer it to another wallet via base.org/names → Transfer. ⸻ 9. How to get a beta code • Base App is not officially released yet. • Invite code required to sign up. • You can get it by: • Joining the waiting list on the official Base website, or • Participating in events on Base Korea’s official channels. ⸻ 10. Using Base App without a beta code • Currently, only users with an invite can access social & DApp features. • Official launch will be announced on Base’s channels. ⸻ 11. Reinstalling Base App – Is my account safe? • Yes. • Smart wallets created in Base App are restored on the same device, so reinstalling doesn’t affect access. • Note: Imported external wallets (MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, etc.) require you to keep the seed phrase for reconnecting. ⸻ 12. What is Base App? • Base App is a Web3 super app by Coinbase, combining: 1. Wallet 2. Social network 3. Mini-apps 4.
