In this weird social age without any critical thinking, for most people it seems "absurdity" gets easily mixed up with "clever." Clever things are often absurd-sounding at first. That's true, but rational people realize that not all absurd things are necessarily clever. It's a limited set, but without critical thinking, it all seems clever when it confirms priors. Not sure how we get out of this.
