Undercurrent 

The synthetic shark skin I wore allowed me to glide through the ocean with such ease. That and the hyper scooter which pulled me approx. 24 clicks an hour. 

I was positioned just off shore of Mauritius looking for Gymnothorax Sagenodeta to study, a certain Morey Eel species now known to have special organ regenerative properties. 

I glanced at my watch, “should be any time now”, I thought to myself. I slow my scooter down to reposition my rebreather mask. Another glance at the watch. “Strange” I verbalize, “he should be here by now”. 

I ping him on the radio. “where ya at Jazz?”. Static. I use my nav to try and pinpoint his location. After a few seconds to process, my readout shows error. I run the process again and recieve the same results. My gut drops at the sight of the readout.

“Am I on my own?”
