In April 2025, Ronald Deibert flew from Toronto, leaving his electronics behind. Upon landing in Illinois, he took a cab straight to an Apple Store in a mall. There, he bought a brand new laptop and iPhone. He did this to avoid the risk of having his own personal devices seized.
