i hadn’t seen that yet, yea it does i still don’t think micro transactions is the way to go but i see the vision my thought is that bc interactions are financialized they will be gamed bc now ppl have a direct incentive to game it. this will end up with money actually flowing to the largest/most well known accts even more and the small/unknown accts still have little to no visibility and will not see the benefits basically i think that by adding direct financial incentives to interacting with posts you actually reduce discoverability

100% i don’t have any noice but i really hope it does well! number go up is good for farcaster i just hope farcaster can find a way to grow network effects without this kind of stuff at some point bc i think the whole idea of financializing every single interaction is flawed

okay i imagined it was something like that. are accounts tied to socials? its been a minute since i looked at it i was thinking it would be cool to have a spx6900 specific marketplace like this where ppl could commission art or actions and then i remembered poidh, it seems like it could be a really good fit

yea i was around for degen and i enjoyed taking part in it and definitely played the game. idk if i ever believed it was a good thing but there was money to be made there were parts about it that were better, like i could still interact with ppl without tipping if I didn’t feel like it so in that way it didn’t impact my interactions, but agreed since it was so much more open it was clearly impacting what ppl would talk about/interact with the problem i see with this tho is that the impact to interactions is still there it’s just obfuscated bc ppl will just not interact with something they otherwise would’ve bc of the financial impact and also interact in ways they wouldn’t normally (ok banger) for the same reason my question is still, if i want to make an impact or show financial support to grow the network I can already do that through the wallet. this just creates weird incentives

wasn’t going to put this out there but it doesn’t matter the ok banger thing is like really cringe and not bc the phrase itself is cringe but bc it came as like a top down corpo mandate and suddenly started appearing everywhere. when you realize that there are financial incentives tied too it it becomes even more cringe. i really don’t get why farcaster/base culture is like this i also still don’t get the obsession with tipping culture here like i can’t be the only one who things it’s super unnatural and weird to have monetary value directly tied to my likes/comments etc. like im always second guessing myself about whether or not i should interact bc of this. if i want to tip somebody for something cool they did i already can with the built in wallet! anyways this is far from the biggest problem farcaster has, but im not a big fan
