In the late 1990s Julia Hill climbed a 200 foot nearly 1000 year old California redwood tree and did not come down for another 738 days. She eventually reached an agreement with Pacific Lumber which wanted to cut the tree to preserve the tree and a 200 foot buffer zone around it 🌲
