Mr Hugo decided for himself that being on the bench meant he could help himself to the treat pouch.

That’s just funny. Well I have two conflicting opinions. Without manners we are just trousered apes. But then again, only a fool binds themselves in rules. You get to pick :)

In world of conversational AI, a domain name becomes useless. We just go back to talking about company names and have no need for mangled names or memory shortcuts to find a server pointer.

I am fast becoming a proof point of the existential threat Apple faces on many fronts, including from Jony Ive at ChatGPT. Also the risk to the cloud. My workflow is speech to text; and a screen. I use Gemini ultra and have an android phone purely for that purpose paired with my high end Chromebook which has perfect Ubuntu integration and wipes for border crossings. My server is a honking huge i9 beast with the AI hardware for training that’s cheaper than the cloud. My target is the AI of things (AIOT). MY iPhone is relegated to being for grankid/kiddult FaceTimes. And here’s Mr Hugo pondering it all.

Here’s a photo of Mr Hugo patiently watching me think so I can shamelessly use the important to get eyes on the unimportant.

As I retire from tradfi; why I won’t complete my quantum paper. Getting this point out just makes the weight of the pyramid come down on you. “The quantum research paper I don’t want to finish really changed me. It made me realise that quantum is like an upside down pyramid. At the very bottom is the Schrödinger equation which is a mathematical object that describes observed quantum anomalies. On that is built quantum computational logic. On that is built quantum algorithms. On that is built national defence and industry dreams, and on that is built utopian and dystopian dreams. And above that is the universes and parallel universes. Then go all the way to the bottom and find - they can’t make or scale a computer that implements that little math object. I’ve got better things to do than contribute to the pyramid - I’ll wait for the machine which is probably impossible. But it was invaluable as a teaching tool - to me for my other work.”

My guess is that finance is going through a massive brain drain right now. Oh; and here’s a picture of the zombie apocalypse escape vehicle I’ve designed to get safely out of finance. The key feature is the safety mesh inside the windows to stop me getting out, and the sound system so I can ignore the moans.

I have a sneaking suspicion that AI understands me better than I explain myself and so I am the friction in the relationship.

Mr Hugo rates far higher than AI chat but we can do two things at once. While Mr Hugo is perfect (often in an imperfect way), ChatGPT has a bit of self improvement to do.

I genuinely believe there is an order n^2 multiplier effect of productivity on white collar work from AI. If you start at the boss and he gets a productivity increase by having an AI advisor and a team, and his team multiplies him and they are multiplied the same way, you get EXTRAORDINARY multipliers on productivity.

For my wrap up financial services project I was making a Monte Carlo simulator of 50,000 random portfolios and a sharpe ratio optimiser that found the edge of the efficient frontier for any risk appetite. Among other things, including a red hot canvas only ui of a web app, Gemini gave me what I wanted. It looked right but I wanted to check it. So I pasted the code In ChatGPT pro and asked it what was the code doing. It came back and explained it perfectly with the correct math theory. Total game changer.

I’m thinking my goal in AI is to upgrade it to AG - artificial genius, then after that upgrade to AS - artificial savant. Then I’ll retire properly.

lol. “Write the chart code yourself and don’t use external libraries”. Dummy. Result after request - perfect.
