My 9-5 story. For 20 years, I worked in IT for a growing MSP. During that time, I worked as a network engineer and wore several management hats that grew to the point where I was working 60+ hours a week, and losing all passion for my career. In 2019, I ended up in the hospital with what I thought was a heart attack, but it turned out to be a panic attack from the stress. At the time, I had a decent savings, so I walked away without a plan. I was 41 and decided that the second half of my life was going to be doing something I enjoy. I went back to school, worked part time jobs, and got a degree in Physical Therapy (PTA). Since then, I work in a neuro rehab clinic, and pretty much love every second of it. I'll probably never retire from it, but will hopefully be able to just work 2-3 days a week in a few years and spend more time with family.
