I keep mirroring these posts for a small profit, wondering what effect this mechanism ultimately has on social media. For example, if I see a promoted tweet on Twitter, I have become conditioned to ignore it, but for some reason, the opportunity of making a few cents gets me to read the message and think about if it's something I want to promote. Additionally, it lands in my feed bc someone I follow went through some version of this vetting process and opted to mirror it, which gives it (at least right now) in my mind a much different status than the promoted tweets on Twitter that an algo decided I was the right demographic for.
