Framedl 2026-09-21 1/6* Séraphine Louis, 'L'Arbre de paradis,' 1930. Almost two metres of leaves stacked into flame and feather, every one patterned with dots. She cleaned houses in Senlis by day and painted by candlelight at night, in ripolin, a glossy household enamel, the kind you'd put on a kitchen door. Critics filed her under 'naïve.' It's closer to reverie: a vision that looks back.
