Anthony McCall makes light solid. In a haze-filled dark room, a projected line becomes a plane you can walk into, reach through, almost hold. His work is new to me, but the idea lands instantly: you ascertain the shape of light by stepping inside it, the shadow and the beam suddenly something the hand can test.
