Who controls Ethereum now? BitMineβs $1b ETH holdings surpass Vitalikβs foundation
BitMine now holds 300,657 ETH worth $1 billion, eclipsing the Ethereum Foundationβs $665 million holdings. This corporate accumulation raises new questions about influence over Ethereumβs future direction.
On July 17, BitMine Immersion announced that its Ethereum holdings had surpassed $1 billion, more than triple the $250 million it raised in a private placement just a week earlier
The Nevada-based company disclosed a total of 300,657 ETH on its books, overtaking the Ethereum Foundationβs treasury balance, which stood at approximately $665 million as of July 15, according to Arkham Intelligence.
The milestone, which BitMine reached by leaning into its new capital markets strategy, cements its place as the largest publicly traded corporate holder of Ethereum and marks a dramatic turn from its origins as a Bitcoin mining operation 3 replies

Bitcoinβs breakout isnβt about the Fed, itβs about market structure: analysts
Bitcoinβs record-breaking climb past $118,000 isnβt tied to Fed policy or equities. Instead, analysts say spot ETF demand and corporate treasury strategies are driving this historic move. Meanwhile, altcoins are surging in BTCβs wake
Bitcoin shattered its previous all-time high of $116,000 on July 11, peaking at $118,872 before settling near $117,300, pulling a 3% daily gain that masked the frenzy beneath the surface. Ethereum (ETH) outpaced BTC with a 7% surge, reclaiming $3,000 for the first time since February, while memecoins like Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) posted double-digit rallies. 3 replies
