The film is set in present-day London. An energy company is holding its annual meeting in the Shard, the tallest skyscraper in Western Europe. A group of radical activists come to disrupt the event and seize 300 hostages to expose the corruption of the host. However, their righteous cause is disrupted by a fanatical extremist in the team, who intends to kill everyone in the building and convey his liberal message to the world. At this moment, a turning point falls on a former soldier named Joy Locke. She is now a window cleaner and is hanging outside the building on the 90th floor (another version says 50th floor). She saves the hostages trapped inside and subdues the murderer, while looking for a way to bring the corrupt energy tycoon to justice.
