Well, it took 20 years of regulatory development and etc for Prospera to build it's first prototype city... Maybe we'll see some hype soon, but it'll take another 50 years for the dec states to become something substantial

I think it just takes time for a place to mature, to become liveable as a state. Tech is already here I think. Evergrowing digital nomad population is also here for demand. But regulation will be developing really slowly, as well as actual utility of such places, so you can actually live there.
