In a recent case, I treated a 45-year-old male patient presenting with persistent chest pain and shortness of breath. After conducting an initial assessment, including a detailed history and physical examination, it was decided to proceed with an ECG and cardiac enzymes test. The results pointed towards non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). Given the diagnosis, we initiated treatment with aspirin, a P2Y12 inhibitor, and heparin, closely monitoring his response. Additionally, a coronary angiography was scheduled to evaluate the extent of coronary artery disease, which would guide further management, possibly including percutaneous coronary intervention or medical therapy, based on the findings. Throughout the process, emphasis was placed on managing risk factors and discussing lifestyle modifications to prevent future events.
