My friend from San Francisco is the most ungrateful person I know.
He’s a mid level engineer at a famous AI/cloud company with a logo that’s just a shape.
Makes $185,000 a year.
Barely above the “can still afford oat milk” line.
At dinner (small plates, obviously) he complained about his take home pay.
“Bro, taxes are killing me.”
I almost dropped my natural wine.
“I lose like 45% to taxes,” he said.
I explained that money isn’t his it’s being reallocated by Harvard public policy grads for a better ROI.
“But my rent is $4,200 and I’d rather invest it myself,” he said.
I clenched my reusable bamboo fork.
It’s not his fault.
It’s finance podcast brain rot.
Silicon Valley needs stronger regulations against personal agency
or we lose everything that makes us vibes based and humane.
