When Napoleon Was Attacked by… Rabbits
Napoleon Bonaparte once organized a rabbit hunt for himself and his officers. His chief of staff arranged for hundreds of tame rabbits to be released for the event. But instead of running away, the rabbits charged toward Napoleon and his men.
The animals, having been raised domestically, associated humans with food. They swarmed the hunting party, forcing Napoleon to retreat to his carriage in embarrassment.
It’s a small, humorous footnote in the career of one of history’s most famous leaders — proof that even powerful figures can be humbled by unexpected events.
