Proposer-Builder Separation and other MEV-mitigation proposals aim to decentralize block production and curb extractive behaviors. Early testnet implementations show promise but still concentrate a significant share of MEV revenue among a few block builders. Research into randomized proposer selection and decentralized builder pools may democratize benefits over time.
