@hamedns
One of the largest research projects on altruism began last year, trying to answer a simple question:
How can we encourage people to help one another?
On Farcaster, I see projects like it #donate by @endaoment walking a similar path
Yet I still have many questions.
I believe altruism is one of the foundations of an ethical life. But sometimes I find myself questioning even that foundation.
Whether you're religious, atheist, or somewhere in between, chances are you value helping others.
When we help someone, we often feel better.
But why?
Is it compassion?
A desire to reduce guilt?
A need to see ourselves as good people?
A way to signal generosity?
Or perhaps a mask we wear to convince ourselves that we are altruistic?
