The daf is a percussion instrument in Iranian-Kurdish music that consists of a wooden hoop with metal rings (usually in a 1-1-2 arrangement) attached to it, and a thin plastic or leather or animal skin skin is stretched over the wooden hoop, and it is played with finger and palm strikes. This instrument is an Iranian percussion instrument similar to the da'eera and bandir, but is larger and lower pitched.
