I pray for a future in which wealth is understood as responsibility rather than status, measured by how well it protects life: the life of communities, the life of the land, the life of those who have carried injustice across generations. In that future, true power would be known by its generosity and its commitment to do no harm. Material fortune does not reveal moral goodness. Too often, it rests on patterns of extraction and the quiet suffering of people and places we are taught not to see.
