The Wealth of Hard Work A farmer lived in Sundarpur village. He had four sons. They were all lazy and incompetent. As the farmer grew old, he began to worry about them. One day, the farmer fell seriously ill. Sensing death was near, he called his four sons to him. He said to them, "I have buried a lot of money in my field. You guys should dig it out." With that, the farmer passed away. After performing the last rites for their father, the four brothers began digging the field. They dug every inch of the field, but they couldn't find any money. They cursed their father. The rainy season was about to arrive. The farmer's sons sowed paddy seeds in the field. The plants grew well, bearing large heads. That year, the field yielded a bountiful paddy crop. The four brothers were overjoyed. Now they understood the true meaning of their father's words. The hard work they put into tilling the field brought them a good harvest. Understanding the importance of hard work, the four brothers devoted themselves to farming.
