OPENAI & SOFTBANK INVEST USD 1 BILLION IN SB ENERGY TO ACCELERATE AI INFRASTRUCTURE
🔹 OpenAI and SoftBank announced a USD 1 billion investment in SB Energy to support the buildout of large-scale AI data center infrastructure.
🔹 The deal is part of the USD 500 billion Stargate infrastructure commitment, announced at the White House last year during the Trump administration.
🔹 SB Energy will build and operate a 1.2-gigawatt AI data center for OpenAI in Texas.
🔹 The partnership introduces a new data center model, combining OpenAI’s AI-optimized infrastructure design with SB Energy’s energy expertise and rapid deployment capabilities.
🔹 SoftBank continues its “all-in” strategy on OpenAI, as OpenAI requires massive capital to expand compute capacity and meet surging AI demand.
