I don't agree with this characterization. Early content on these platforms may have been less polished, but these things, [whether blog posts, bedroom vlogs, or tiktok dances] are made with human intention, purpose, and passion.
AI slop (algorithmic content generation designed to farm engagement), on the other hand, does not have the same intention behind it.
To be clear, not all AI content fits this criteria for slop. There are creatives and artists using these tools to create content or art that is expressive, experimental, and authentic.
Let's not diminish the value of human creativity by making false equivalencies. 1 reply
