Light does not travel in straight lines near massive objects. Gravity bends space-time itself, causing a phenomenon called gravitational lensing. Entire galaxies can act like cosmic magnifying glasses,bending and amplifying light from even more distant objects. Sometimes,one galaxy appears multiple times in the sky nature’s own optical illusion.
