I was going to applaud the Somali government for implementing the ban on child marriage, only to wake up to seeing that the men, protested and it’s been reversed in less than 24hrs I cannot lie, that brought literal tears down my eyes, I truly cannot believe it . What about marrying someone under 18years is to protest I saw videos of girls not so much older than 12years heavily pregnant, living in bad conditions and some are already even single parents . I just recently saw a video of a man at least 60years with tears in his eyes and guess what he was on about? How unfair that the new child marriage ban is, how much they should fight it and how it’s part of colonialism. Some of them are even using religion as base to why the ban should not be implemented. It’s sad, it’s scary , they need a voice, they need as much backings as they can get. I truly hope this catches the United Nations attention. END CHILD MARRIAGE in Somali
