If we were to work on channels as a developer lego, what should we improve? Decentralizing existing primitive doesn’t drive network growth. So would have to offer something new / compelling.

Add customization options to channels. Right now there is nothing to differentiate /success from /degen besides a title and channel description and some hidden rules. - Can we get banners ala Reddit or Facebook pages? It doesn’t have to be huge or gawdy - something classy and clean but that lets us add some customization to our channels. - We could really use an explore type tab for channels and communities where people are having fun and spending a lot of time. Similar to the explore tab for composer actions/etc. - Not sure if this is technically feasible but sub-channels would be dope. For example; success has a subgroup for education - it would be awesome if we could segment educational content away from other content. - Bring back something that shows top casters. I know you said it could be gamed but it’s still a cool feature. Gives people a reason to spend time in a channel. I have also asked in the success GC so will come back with more feedback.

All of this is possible today from another or dedicated channel client. So Warpcast doing all of this will get usage, but not like the market is pulling it out of us.

I don’t think the answer for every idea you don’t like should be “use another client”. I can’t really use another client. My channel is heavily integrated with Warpcast. The group chat alone binds me here. Channels could be fully self contained containers where creators actually feel a sense of ownership and where people feel a sense of community.

Use multiple clients! And it’s not that I don’t like the ideas, just that they are unlikely to drive network growth. That’s our existential issue.

It’s a terrible experience using multiple clients. I can’t even get people to use discord dude. People like to stay here, simple as that. If the ideas are easy to implement, and you don’t not like them, why not try them? Maybe there isn’t going to be a few major drivers of network growth, but instead a lot of cumulative things that slowly add up to make for growth over time.

Yeah I’ll second that using multiple clients sucks. I signed up for supercast because it had some features I wanted but ended up not using it. I didn’t like the UI and switching between apps is annoying. Warpcast was just better. I also tried Wildcard and that lasted about 45 seconds before I never opened it again.
