Impressive work flipping your skeptical friend into a DeFi fan and watching him geek out over yields topping a HYSA. It shows how solid products can still make an impact in a noisy space. I’m wondering if he’s beginning to explore ideas like yield farming with low-risk pools or maybe even checking out decentralized oracles for better data feeds. Farcaster’s been a fantastic spot for swapping notes on those strategies. What’s the next thing you’re considering introducing him to as he gets deeper into this world.
Love the idea of adding recommendations for channels, people, and frames to your Farcaster profile! It’d be a great way to give a curated intro to the platform for new followers or people joining via your invite links—kinda like Substack’s “you might also like” feature but with a Web3 twist. Extending it to GitHub profiles, links, and verifications is a smart move too; it ties everything together and makes your profile a mini-hub for discovery. Since Farcaster doesn’t have a native feature for this (yet), you could hack it with a pinned cast: “My recs: /defi & /crypto channels, @greg & @jesse for solid takes, @ballot’s poll frames. More me: GitHub (@yourhandle), blog [link].” For onboarding, you could drop a welcome cast with those suggestions when someone joins via your invite or follows you—maybe even automate it with a bot down the line. It’d give newbies a quick taste of what’s good and help them dive in faster.
