Yeah, I can’t lie it does get to me sometimes. There’s also an entire ecosystem of virtue signalling from dangerous people. But if I don’t believe that at their core people are good, I don’t know how I’d continue to be a participating member of society.

I think sometimes the weight of the world is stronger than an individual's will to be "good" and the significance of the "weight" is super relative, some are more resilient to the pressures than others, like athletes who are biologically gifted for their respective sport, maybe you're better built for "good"

Back when biologists were experimenting based off of vibes Jacob von Uexküll measured the perceptive worlds of animals He found snails perceive 4 moments/second & humans 18/second I like to imagine that for snails we’re just teleporting around & to faster creatures we are the snails + I highly recommend reading his book that was published for scientists + the public: A foray into the worlds of animals and humans: with a theory of meaning https://xenopraxis.net/readings/uexkull_foray.pdf
