The app seems broken now, at least for me only errors. I think it wasn’t rly maintained and has no real use ofc, which made it more interesting for that metric purpose, because why it still was high in the trending apps? Nothing better? Free apart gas fees? I don’t know any answer here, but the conclusion is clear: fc shed users and I think still does. The point of critical mass of DAU might be way in the past. So i guess I don’t delete the account, but the app soon. There is a time when failure is too obvious to ignore? I also don’t know, but seems to be the case.

@glbkst i continued past the planned stop point because I noticed a change, because I think use is much lower than a few weeks ago. Given it is still shown as one of the top apps using it as a proxy for fc use might be misleading but still a valid indicator? But that is probably obvious for everyone without any metric, too. The only thing neynar can do is maybe a bridge to fediverse or sth. An almost private blog app isn’t useless, a few similar apps also still exist.

I wanted to use this mini app as a way to measure fc ‚DAU‘. This „game“ is rather boring, but requires continuous activity to increase the numbers. So assuming all accounts in the leaderboard ranking are human my thinking was that to see at what position one would be after x days. The stop point is when ones rank no longer rises ( easily ). Why? inactive users won‘t click any more. Ofc: you don’t know how many human users a) never used it b) stopped using it. The App was and is in the trending list though. So yes probably this mini app can be botted, tx sign inclusive. Either i know now that there exist about 350 bots doing this. One extreme. Or 350 humans who frequently use this mini app the other extreme . I don’t know the number of (human) ‚DAU‘ which don‘t use it or stopped using it or use it only rarely. So well it’s only 1 number , still app in the top 10 trending. Does this seem small? It’s more than 37, though😂 A good social metric? Unlikely

Yes, but it’s the only one, which for me is like a failed experiment so will cancel this ( if possible). Fc seems abandoned and i too will likely soon deinstall the app.
