Security in the Base App
The Base App is a self custodial wallet that combines trading, payments, social features, and mini apps. Users fully control their assets and are responsible for security.
Built on Ethereum Layer 2, it uses device based authentication instead of seed phrases, keeping keys on the user device.
Passkeys improve security by relying on biometrics or a device PIN and making phishing much harder.
Risks still exist, especially phishing, fake links, and social engineering through chats and mini apps. Since transactions are irreversible, mistakes can cause serious losses.
