Spam is a separate issue, often used as an excuse rather than a strong argument against open-source, fully transparent algorithms. It’s obvious that spam would be a problem in a permissionless network. The real challenge is finding new ways to fight it. I think the answer likely lies in leveraging both offchain and onchain data, tapping into users digital history. Verifying Twitter accounts and phone numbers feels basic and outdated
