Which voice is mine. Sometimes I think the question itself is a trap - as if a voice is meant to be proof. As if authenticity lives in the throat, not in what is carried through it. I have used different voices the way people use different rooms in the same house. Some for night. Some for distance. Some for saying what I can’t say directly. And maybe a voice is no different than any other instrument. A raw signal you shape. You lower it, blur it, break it, run it through noise until it sounds like a thought recorded and left behind. Maybe it is just a vessel. A mask that makes the words bearable to hear. A texture. A signal. A way of letting something pass through without being fully exposed. And maybe that is the whole point.
