The beauty of generative art is the dance between the code and the programmer. There are high level ideas you have and then you create mini tools to satisfy those ideas. Then with a couple of these little tools, you start creating larger programs that orchestrate those tools to make all sort of interesting outputs. One of the main proponents of this orchestration is randomness.. sometimes its controlled randomness.. a balance between order and chaos.
