Ever wondered what a T-Rex's breath smelled like? According to scientists, the answer is clear: Rotting meat!
Chunks of prey would get stuck between their knife like teeth and rot over time, making their breath unbearably foul. The Field Museum in Chicago actually recreated this ancient odor for the exhibit of their famous T-Rex skeleton, "Sue." The interesting part? To nail the scent, they used a "synthetic decomposing flesh" smell normally used to train disaster response dogs.
London's Natural History Museum actually tried to present this smell to visitors back in 2001, but it was so repulsive they had to ditch it and use a "prehistoric swamp" scent instead!
