History is weirder than fiction. In Medieval France, if a pig committed a crime (and they often did), they weren’t just slaughtered they were fully prosecuted.
The Lore:
Homicidal Swine: These weren't your cute pink farm pigs. They were basically wild boars. There are hundreds of records of pigs being tried for killing (and eating) humans.
The Trial Meta: They were thrown in jail, given lawyers, and transported in carts to the gallows for public execution.
The 1457 Case: A sow was found guilty of murder, but her piglets were acquitted because they were "just watching." Absolute legendary legal defense.
Are we more civilized now, or just less creative with our justice?
