I think they've always said it's something you will eventually be able to do but has not been done yet to my knowledge. I've certainly not had a request to approve merging my Zora wallet and my tba smart wallet. And my tba posts still end up on a different "account" than my Zora posts

Does if you look in the right place 😉. Seems like all tba accounts are built on a Zora accounts, even if it's not an account you know exists. If you post content coins on tba, punch the CA of one of them into Zora and it'll take you to the "account" that generated the coin. Example, I saw aneri coin on Zora before anything else as I found the Zora "account" that had generated any of her TBA coined posts if that makes sense? Gets confusing but there's two real (at least) aneri accounts on Zora. One that's her actual account, one that's a proxy to her tba account that is essentially the launchpad for any content coins and creator coins. Same for everyone. I follow my tba Zora proxy with my normal Zora account
