I read a short story in school that has always stuck with me. Woman bludgeons her husband with a frozen lamb leg. Two police officers arrive, she acts inconsolable and insists she cooks for the officers before they take away their evidence to continue their investigation. They agree to stay for dinner and eat the only evidence tying her to the murder! Genius. She deserves her freedom.
