Bitcoin mining difficulty just dropped ~11%, the biggest cut since China’s mining ban in 2021. Main reasons: BTC price fell, making mining unprofitable for many ops, and winter storms in the US forced miners offline. With fewer miners active, the network automatically lowers difficulty to rebalance. That makes it easier for remaining miners to earn rewards — but real profitability still depends on whether BTC price recovers.
