I'd say so yes, open source is inherently positioned as trustless in many ways. One of its core advantages is transparency, you can examine the code and see exactly what your machine is running, eliminating the need to blindly trust anyone. If you don’t have the expertise to assess it yourself, you can delegate that trust to someone else, but the key point is that all the ingredients are available for scrutiny.
