The solution to the DM problem is here. Announcing Reply, a Farcaster mini-app that rebuilds messaging around verifiable value. The premise is simple: Your attention is a finite resource. Serious outreach should acknowledge that. The system is an onchain escrow that enforces this principle. @clanker please create $Reply token https://reply-app.vercel.app/

Hey drmat, great questions! That's an interesting comparison, but Reply is actually for private DMs, not public replies to a cast. The goal is to solve the "unread DM" problem and help you reach busy people directly. And yes, you absolutely can set your own price! Anyone can go into the app's settings and set a price to monetize their inbox. Hope that clarifies things!

This means a lot coming from you, man. Respect. The "oscillation" is real, but it's all worth it when you're building in an ecosystem with people like you. Speaking of which, I'm honored to have the @tipn team officially listed in Reply. Now there's a clear, high-signal way for the community to connect with one of the most respected build teams on Farcaster. This is what it's all about.

A quick note on the new Onchain Polls and our upcoming @dau partnership. To vote in the poll, it costs 100k $REPLY (currently ~$0.13). This is to prevent spam. Starting this Monday, the official DAU task will be to vote in this poll. The reward for completing the task will be ~120k $REPLY. We're experimenting with this small positive EV to reward real users, and will monitor it closely for bots. What this means for you: If you vote this weekend before the campaign starts, make sure to visit the @dau app on Monday to claim your reward! It's a bit of a pre-game opportunity.

So hyped to finally get this out the door. The onchain polling system was a huge lift, but it was essential to make it a high-integrity, bot-resistant feature. The in-app swap was a last-minute addition because I knew the user experience would be terrible without it. This is a huge step towards making Reply a core piece of Farcaster's social infrastructure. A massive thank you to the @dau team for the brainstorming that led to this, and to the entire community for your patience and feedback.

gm. It's done. After a marathon weekend of coding, the biggest update to Reply since launch is finally live. I poured everything I had into this one to get it right. The official announcement with the full changelog is coming from @replyfarcaster in a few minutes.

For those wondering where the big update is, here's a transparent look at what I'm working on right now. I'm stress-testing the new in-app swap. I need to ensure it works perfectly whether you're swapping for $REPLY to vote in a poll, or swapping for any other token to send a DM. It's the final piece of the puzzle before I can deploy. I'm committed to getting this live today, but only when it's 100% ready. Appreciate your patience.

And that's a wrap on a long day of coding. I have a big progress update on the new onchain polling feature. The smart contract for the polls has been successfully deployed and tested. I've also integrated and tested the core voting logic within the Reply app itself. However, as I was building, I realized two things: - The "Smart Suggestions" logic needs more polish before it's ready. I'm not going to ship it half-baked. - Asking you to vote with $REPLY without an easy way to get it is a huge user pain point. So, I've made a decision: I'm also adding an in-app swap for $REPLY to this update. It's late now, and I want to be 100% sure everything is smooth and bug-free. So, I'll be finishing up the final polish and the swap feature tomorrow morning. The plan is to ship the complete, polished update tomorrow, ready for the @dau campaign to kick off on Monday. Thanks for your patience. Prioritizing a great experience over a rushed deadline. p.s. Reply app is working. gn.

Quick heads-up: I'm shipping the new "Most Wanted" user polls. The app will be unavailable for some time while I deploy and run final tests. Back soon with the update.

This is what a real partnership looks like. So much respect for the way @whatsthedeetz @flynn.eth and the @dau team are building in public and lifting up the whole ecosystem with them. I'm incredibly excited about the onchain polling feature we're co-creating. It's a perfect example of the "positive-sum" future we're all working towards. Honored to be crushing it alongside you.

gm. In the final stretch of coding for this week's big update. All the design, feedback, and backend work on the new Discovery Engine is coming together. The mission now is simple: polish the details and get it ready to ship. Aiming to get the on-chain polls and smart suggestions into your hands this weekend. The coffee is brewed.

Been thinking about the user experience of the new Base App vs Farcaster App. It feels like they're becoming two different tools for two different jobs, and that's a brilliant thing for the ecosystem. The Base App: The perfect "front door" for the mainstream. It's simple, clean, and the best onboarding experience for someone's first on-chain social interaction. It's for broad reach. Farcaster Clients: The "power user" hub. It's for deep engagement, governance, and the rich, chaotic energy that drives the culture forward. It's for community depth. Super bullish on both.

gm. A mid-week progress report on this week's build. As I've been building out the on-chain "Community Poll" feature for the @dau partnership, I had a realization: the two big features I planned for this week: "Smart Suggestions" and "Community Polls" shouldn't be separate. They are more powerful when combined into a single, intelligent experience. So, here’s how the new and improved "Most Wanted" poll feature will work: When you go to vote, you won't just see a blank search bar. The app will help you decide by suggesting users in three categories: - Personalized for You: Based on your own on-chain activity, it will suggest people you frequently engage with but who don't follow you back. It turns your own engagement data into a powerful signal. - Trending: See who the rest of the community is voting for, giving you a sense of popular demand. - Search Anyone: Of course, you'll still have the freedom to search for and vote for any user on Farcaster. The core vision remains the same. This isn't just a popularity contest. It’s about creating a transparent, on-chain record of demand for someone's attention. It gives us, as a community, a clear signal of who to "hunt" and onboard next, showing them the tangible value waiting for them on @replyfarcaster. I'm finishing up the Polls now and diving into the Suggestions component. The plan is to ship these two deeply integrated features together this weekend. The work continues.
