Something I've never liked: you mint an NFT, you get a picture of a box, and then you wait weeks for somebody to flip a switch and tell you what you actually bought. The waiting isn't the fun part. The opening is. So Eater's orbs come out sealed and you open yours whenever you want. Ten minutes later, in March, or never. There's no reveal date and nobody is going to announce one. It's your orb, it's your moment. And if you'd rather not open it, you can sell it sealed and let somebody else take the chance. I don't know which of those two markets ends up bigger, and finding out is half the reason both exist. What makes it fair: what's inside every orb was fixed before the sale opened, as a fingerprint written into the contract. I can't choose what you get, you can't work it out early, and your own seed goes in at the moment you open. Which is also why the reel spins on open and not on mint. Until you press it there's nothing to spin for. Mint's live now: https://eater.monster/mint
