Neutrality at the protocol layer is what keeps Ethereum credible, but that doesn’t mean builders or participants have to be neutral about what they value. Open systems invite a wide range of outcomes, some aligned, some not. The important part is that the base layer stays permissionless, while the ecosystem debates, critiques, and builds in the open. That tension is part of what keeps it healthy.
