Social networks are mirrors of their incentives. If the incentive is ad revenue, you get outrage. If the incentive is engagement, you get noise. Farcaster’s incentive is ownership. And when people own something, they treat it differently. That subtle shift in design incentive makes me hopeful. Maybe we can build a digital commons that’s sustainable, not extractive.
